Jacket Vests And Flannels
When it comes to my kids, dressing them is the best part of my day. However, if its not functional, its not gonna work! Clothes have to be comfortable for school aged kids. Between Recess, Physical Ed, and those after school visits to the park, the kids need to be in clothing that allows them to move and run around.
With the colder months ahead, I tend to reach for clothing pieces I can layer. Enter the Jacket Vests and Flannels. These are two ideal pieces of clothing all kids should have. The added bonus: They are easy to style!
I like to start out by picking a graphic tee to go underneath all the layers. Choose something busy enough to catch your eye, but not to overwhelm it. Here I chose a white graphic tee for both of the kids to help keep it simple (but also because white is easy to match!) The designs on both of the shirts are pretty basic.
The flannel part is the easiest! Anything goes here. I chose to play things up by selecting a flannel that has similar colors to the tee. TOTALLY NOT NECESSARY! If the day warms up, the jacket and flannel are easy to remove at school.
A solid colored jacket is also a must for me! I don't want to spend time worrying that colors and patterns are clashing (aint nobody got time for that!) I prefer a jacket vest for the kids because it allows them to have mobility while still keeping warm. We've all seen the kids that are wearing a jacket so thick they can't even move in it!
I finished things off with a comfy pair of sneaks, and Voila! The kids are dressed and I'm out the door!
*For the girls*
If you have a little extra time in the morning, pairing this look with a braided updo is a great way to make it extra special. Especially for little ladies like mine that need their hair out of the way.
